The Thoughts. (S.T.E.A.L Challenge)

As the workers rushed through my doors, I prepare my mind for the dreariness ahead. I felt my kindling being lit deep within my large, concrete body. Soon smog would be pouring out of my funnels and into the outside world. I often try to imagine myself seeing the world but it is impossible to make it a reality without leaving behind my body and friends. Instead I imagine all the planks and wood chips that my body creates going to their home, the place they will stay until they rot. As the parliament members enter, I sigh, and accept.

The Plague

As I tried to untangle the confused mixture of  limbs that were draped over me, I wished that I had never ventured to the island of Plague,  leaving everything and risking my life. One of the plague ridden fingers found its way into my weak mouth I pulled my head back to rid myself of it but succeeded only in finding myself lying next to a half dead body. Horrified, I scrambled backward the plagued town struggling forwards as quickly as their sickness allowed. As my heart pumped and my legs flailed a realization came over me, these were humans…

August 31

Her

I crept into the mansion, its stained glass windows untouched by time, gave the big house a strange, gloomy look, this was not how I remembered or imagined my lost mothers mansion. I had lived all my life with my parents, but five years ago my mother vanished, she had grown up with millionaire parents who gave her anything, but she often told me how lonely she had been wandering around their mansion with nothing to do, I shivered when recalling that she had died here, and that her ghost wandered free and a cold hand closed around my throat.

The Occurrence in the Alley

I followed them to the alleyway that connects Issistal  Street to the highway, I was alone, unprotected and wet but not scared. I crept up to them (they had stopped) and hid behind an old oil drum, then I listened. I could not hear exactly what they were saying but I what I did hear was this: “We’ll get the kids, and kill ’em after that we’ll take the parents and see how they like the front row seat, then they might be willing to pay up.” I was horrified, they were going to kidnap children and kill them to make their parents pay! one of the people in the alley threw a cigarette over their shoulder onto the oil drum, but by reading the label, I realized that it wasn’t oil, and it wasn’t old it was full of petrol, ant petrol is almost Explosive!!!

August 16

Gone

Fear gripped my throat as I saw them destroying the library. Someone had told them what was hidden in fathers favorite place, told them. Betrayed me. A cry burst from my mouth as they saw the door, the one hiding the secrets, the money, the power, everything. Suddenly, a memory of the wizard who came to our house every year came rushing back, “your daughter will use it some day, she is powerful…” he said to my father. They got through the door as I screamed, “PHENOMENAL!!!” the power raced through the door and into my soul they were gone.

Next time

The lonely neighborhood of Fergus Vale had a strange reputation.  The people there were often nowhere, the streets, were always empty and the houses said to be haunted. But the truth was that the streets were always full and the the houses weren’t haunted and the people never left. The problem was, the were stuck doing the same thing every day. The only thing that was different to the rest of the days in the year was that for one hour each year they were free. And the first thing every body would say is, “Next time I will leave.”

The Statue in the Park

The soldier hesitated. Did he make the right choice? The crossroad test had been tricky. All the men in the Army had been asked the same question, “If you could, would you?” each soldier had been shown a different thing, he had seen his child hood foe, sprawling dead on the ground, then an alive, healthy version of the same man. the soldier had thought of how much he had hated, feared that man, he said say no. if he could help the mans death, he would not. in his faze of regret, he turned to stone. his foe avenged.

The It (monster)

In the year 79 CE on the 24th of August a volcano erupted. Many people know this, but what scientists don’t know is that out of the eruption, there came a monster. In 1843, a wizard was gifted to this Earth. The Wizard was named Unferdufus, but people (usually) called him Unfer. Unfer, knew about the monster that had come from the volcano, his quest was to kill it.

The It (monster), (his mother had named him), had a question. He went out in search of the person who could answer his question, the wizard, Unferdufus. When he found Unferdufus, “which way to the shops?” It panted. Unfer stared. “?”

Unexpectedly

Madam Lecture often told her students, “I am too old for your fairytales, do tell the truth now.” But what her pupils told her was exactly that, the truth. They told her of magical creatures, different solar systems and life cycles that she  had never heard of, let alone seen.

One day, Madam Lecture disappeared, right off the face of the Earth. Many of the parents of the children that she had taught, questioned their children about the disappearance of their teacher, though, to their  puzzlement the children only bowed their heads and said, “I didn’t realize they could fly.

The Inland Tower

Some time ago, there was a tower. The tower it was said, had been used for warding off all the merpeople that lived along the coast. It was also said that a young boy named Charlie Mostall had disrespected the use of the tower. He had supposedly said- “you know that it is just a stupid tower it’s not like it does anything.”  Charlie, was never seen again. Many people in the village near The Inland Tower said that his carelessness had weakened the towers power and the merpeople had taken him. The tower to this day, has many stories.
